What is Tidy Toddlers?
Tidy Toddlers is a step-by-step programme to help you simplify your home and your family life. It is based on Japanese tidying, namely the KonMari method, and inspired by my own experience raising two toddlers.
Tidying is a skill like any other, you can learn it. But just like 片づけ (katazuke, Japanese tidying) goes beyond home organizing, Tidy Toddlers is not about teaching children how to put away their things or help with household tasks.
It’s about building, from an early age, a different relationship with objects so that taking care of them doesn’t feel like a chore, but a natural and positive habit.
Who is it for?
Tidy Toddlers is specifically designed for mums of toddlers who are trying to juggle it all: career, family, household, friends, hobbies…
It’s for you if:
- You love the idea of a tidy, serene home but struggle to find the time, energy, or effective methods to make it happen.
- You’re constantly tidying up. Children should play and make a mess, but you can’t stand your living room permanently looking like a playground.
- You’re also sick of being the only one who seems to notice or care about the state of your home. It’s so frustrating!
- You wish you could delegate tasks but don’t know how. You know nagging doesn’t work though.
- You long for a simpler, more manageable home life, where you have the time and energy to enjoy motherhood.
What you will get from the programme
Being a parent is tough, but tidying will make it that bit easier. Tidy Toddlers helps you achieve:
- More time, space, and calm: Free yourself from the constant clutter cycle and enjoy a home that’s easy to tidy (think: reset in just 10 minutes). Spend more quality time with your children and less time tidying and cleaning.
- A routine that works for your family: Develop a simple, effective tidying routine that fits your family’s unique needs, teaches children to take responsibility for their belongings, and lets you confidently delegate tasks to your partner, children, or other members of your household.
- Greater confidence and ease: Gain clarity and confidence in making decisions, from letting go of “just in case” items (read: clutter) to gracefully handling incoming items, including unwanted gifts. Feel empowered to create a home and family life that brings you joy.
- Stronger family connections: Create a space that everyone appreciates and cares for, improving relationships, reducing stress, and promoting quality family time.
- Mindful consumption habits: Save money and lighten your family’s carbon footprint by changing how you shop.
The story behind Tidy Toddlers
Hi, I’m Yuri 👋 I’m a Japanese tidying consultant and mum of two toddlers.
I’m in the thick of motherhood — navigating sleepless nights, big emotions, childcare woes, and the constant juggling act of raising little ones.
But early on, I realised I didn’t feel quite as overwhelmed as other mums around me. It wasn’t because I had some secret parenting formula or a superpower for endless patience. Far from it.
The difference was tidying.
- Our space is largely clutter-free and feels serene. The kids have room to play and enough toys to keep them engaged, but not so many that they (or I) feel overwhelmed.
- Moreover, from very early on, they’ve learned to take care of their belongings and to let go of things they no longer use.
- But more importantly, this approach has given me the mental space to be present with my children. I can slow down, connect with them, and enjoy the small moments.
- I’ve even found time for things that many mums tell me feel impossible, like baby sign language or reusable nappies. These things aren’t just “extras” in our lives; they’re reflections of our values.
Because tidying isn’t just about having a clean, organised home. It’s about deciding what truly matters to you and letting go of everything else. From physical objects to activities to rituals — you create an environment that reflects your family values.
Tidying is about about clarity. Learning to let go empowers to handle anything from unwanted gifts and unsolicited advice to your own self-criticism.
I created Tidy Toddlers to help overwhelmed parents find clarity and calm by simplifying their environment and their life.
I’m not a parenting expert, but I’ve learned that a simpler, tidier home leads to a calmer, happier family. Let me help you uncover what truly matters to you and create a space that reflects that.
Let’s tidy up not just your home, but your life, to make room for what truly matters to you.
